Bio: Ms Mathapelo M Pule is a qualified Clin Path Medical technologist with over 10 years’ experience in clinical pathology from both the private and public sector. She has a passion for unravelling the mysteries of disease and a commitment to providing superior patient care. Fascinated by the intersection of laboratory diagnostics and patient health, her unwavering curiosity and pursuit of excellence led her to gain extensive experience in various aspects of pathology including hematology, immunology, microbiology, molecular, and chemical diagnostics.

Recognizing the vital role that pathology plays in accurate disease diagnosis and treatment, Ms Mathapelo M Pule founded ZAR-MED Laboratories with a vision to deliver affordable, cutting-edge diagnostic testing. Throughout her career, she has aided in starting up private laboratories and was at the forefront of assembling a full state-of-art private clinical laboratory with rigorous quality control measures and a team of highly skilled laboratory personnel. This laboratory assisted with accurate diagnostics at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic aiding Doctors with a quicker turnaround time and superior patient care.

CHEMICAL PATHOLOGY

Chemical pathologyinvolves the study and investigation of the biochemical basis of disease processes and the use of biochemical tests for diagnosis and management of diseases.

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY

Molecular Biology is the study of cells and the molecular level [DNA& RNA] to assist in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.

Molecular techniques can also be used for genetic disease.

MICROBIOLOGY

Microbiology is used for the identification of disease in various body fluids [urine, stool, CSF etc] with the use of microscopy.
Cultures are performed for pathogen identification and if organisms are identified, sensitives of the organisms to antibiotics are performed to assist the doctor with a treatment regime.

HAEMATOLOGY

Haematology is the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to the blood and its components.

CYTOLOGY

Cytology is the study of cells.
Gynaecological cytology includes both conventional and Liquid Based Cytology.
Non Gynaecological Cytology is the study of cells in various organs of the body.
